This 10 part documentary series follows an urban high-school basketball team on its quest to become state champions. Shot on location in an inner city Seattle high school, Starters chronicles the exploits, ups and downs, victories and defeats of the Rainier Beach's Vikings, both inside the locker room and on and off the court. The series reveals coaching techniques, team dynamics, and the personal challenges, rising above the pressures of drugs, alcohol and gangs, and the ambitions of the aspiring athletes in their own words.
Starters follows an extraordinary basketball team for a season. The ups and downs of high school ball are told in the players' own words, as the team tries to come together to win a state basketball championship.
