Matt Chan - President
Matt Chan began his career in 1975 where he worked in Public Television in Portland, Oregon until 1978. During his time there, he worked as a producer/director and moved to the position of director of daytime programming.
In the fall of 1978, Matt moved to Seattle, Washington as a producer/director with KING-TV, and then on to San Francisco in 1979 to work for Group W's "Evening Magazine" at KPIX-TV where he worked as an editor, field producer, and line producer on the show.
In the fall of 1985, Chan accepted the position of Executive Producer at KCRA-TV in Sacramento, California. In 1986, Matt returned to Group W Productions in San Francisco to head up national production for the syndicated program "PM/Evening Magazine."
In 1989, Matt accepted the position of Creative Services Director with KXTV in Sacramento, CA then became the Director of Programming and Production in 1991. While at KXTV, Chan and his team produced four nationally syndicated series.
In 1996, Matt went on to become the President and General Manager of Belo Productions, an operating company for the A.H. Belo Corporation. In January of 1999, Matt purchased his division from Belo and started SCREAMING FLEA PRODUCTIONS. Over the past six years, Screaming Flea has tripled in size and created and produced programming for over sixteen networks worldwide.
Matt is married to Gei Chan and has two children: Max, who attends the University of the Pacific and Althea, who teaches second grade in Seattle. |
